Canadian Government Support for TM

Jocelyne Comtois’s groundbreaking research in the early ‘70s on the effects of Transcendental Meditation (TM) on short-term memory was formally approved at the highest levels of the Canadian government. This research was followed by an experimental TM program for directors of training and development, which was pivotal in building institutional support.

The result? Government sponsorship for civil servants to learn TM. By 1974, with the help of Ottawa’s TM teachers, 1% of the city’s civil servants were practicing TM.

Working with Maharishi

Jocelyne later spent a decade working closely with Maharishi in Switzerland, contributing to courses such as SCI and Management, now part of the MIU curriculum.

Education and International Experience

She holds Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Education, and the Science of Creative Intelligence. With years of experience as a corporate executive, she has led international business and human resources initiatives and delivered management training to professionals around the world.

Jocelyne has also taught TM in English and Spanish to foreign diplomats and lectured at leading institutions, including the World Bank and the IMF in Washington, DC. In addition, she has held leadership and teaching roles at MIU and The Raj AyurVeda Spa in Fairfield, Iowa.
