Have you ever considered making Victoria, BC, your home? Or taking a meditation retreat on Salt Spring Island? Meet Don McCarthy, a long-time TM teacher and accomplished builder on Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n

Don owns a prime development property in Victoria, with plans to build over 70 residential and commercial units. His vision is to create a vibrant TM community by establishing a TM centre, an Ayurvedic spa, and providing affordable housing for meditators.<\/p>\n

Don’s journey began in 1973 when he learned Transcendental Meditation. He soon became a TM teacher and spent five years teaching and managing TM centers in Kamloops and Victoria. He co-founded (and renovated) the Victoria TM School (VSIE) and, along with Maria-Rosa Papetti, oversees World Peace House, our serene retreat centre on Salt Spring Island.<\/p>\n

With over 40 years of experience as a general building contractor, Don has designed and built more than 60 homes, as well as hundreds of renovations for apartment complexes and commercial buildings. His work has been featured in newspapers and magazines.<\/p>\n

In addition to planning the new meditation community in Victoria and running World Peace House, Don is also working with Richard Wright (an educational documentary producer from Portland, Oregon) on a fundraising video for the 10,000 Pundits Project.<\/p>\n
